Western Piedmont  Weather Authority

Reliable data + Reliable Forecasts=A better prepared community.
RELIABLE DATA

At Western Piedmont Weather Authority, we utilize reliable data sources and cutting-edge technology to make our forecasts. All of our data comes from NOAA's National Weather Service, the most reliable source of weather information in the United States. We then interpret this data using cutting-edge software such as the Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS II) provided by Unidata, Quantum GIS (QGIS) , BUFKIT, and others to make our forecast.

RELIABLE FORECASTS

At Western Piedmont Weather Authority, you can trust that our forecasts are made by people who know what they are doing. Although our staff does not possess a degree in meteorology, they are SKYWARN certified and have several certifications in many aspects of meteorology and we use this knowledge along with technology to make the forecast.
